September 20, 2012: In tune with the nationwide campaign protesting the allegedly faulty allocation of coal blocks, the Nagaland State Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJP Youth Wing, BJYM) has sent a letter to the officers in charge of the North and South Kohima Police Stations, filing an F.I.R. “under relevant sections” against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for “his prima facie role in the coal scam”. This, as per the note, has cost the state exchequer losses “to the tune of Rs. 1, 86, 000 Crore”. The letter written by President of the BJYM, Nagaland State Unit, Lima Longchar, was received on September20 by Officer-in-Charge of both police stations in Kohima. It stated that “the policy of allotment of coal blocks on competitive bids was formulated on June 28, 2004. It was implemented on February 2, 2012 by issuing a notification only.
