गुरु तेग बहादुर सिखों के नौवें गुरु को समर्पित दिल्ली के चांदनी चौक का गुरुद्वारा शीशगंज गुरुद्वारा साहिब के नाम से जाना जाता है। इसका निर्माण की नींव बघेल सिंह ने 1783 में डाली थी। इसी जगह पर मुगल बादशाह औरंगजेब के आदेश पर गुरु तेग बहादुर का सिर काट दिया गया था। उस समय कई लोग ने औरंगजेब के खौफ में अपना धर्म परिवर्तित किया था। औरंगजेब ने गुरु तेग बहादुर को भी धर्म परिवर्तन का आदेश दिया था, लेकिन सिखों के गुरु ने इस आदेश को नहीं माना और 11 नवंबर 1675 को इस्लाम में परिवर्तित होने के लिए मना कर दिया। इसी स्थान पर शीशगंज गुरुद्वारा गुरुद्वारा बनाया गया। औरंगजेब के आदेश से गुरु तेग बहादुर का सिर काट दिया गया और उसके बाद शहीद गुरु तेग बहादुर का पार्थिव शरीर अनुयायियों के दर्शन के लिए रखा जाता उससे पहले ही उनके एक अनुयायी लखी शाह वंजारा ने चुरा लिया और गुरु जी के शरीर का संस्कार करने के लिए अपना घर तक जला दिया और उस जगह पर रकाब गंज साहिब गुरुद्वारा स्थापित हुआ। गुरु तेग बहादुर का शीश आनंदपुर साहिब लेकर उनके अनुयायी भाई जैटा पहुंचे और शीश के संस्कार से पहले उसे एक रात के लिए तरोरी ले जाया ...

देवी दुर्गा का एक मंदिर राजस्थान प्रदेश के “सीकर” नामक स्थान पर स्थित है। इस मंदिर को करीब 1000 साल पुराना बताया जाता है। वहीं कुछ इतिहासकार इस मंदिर को 8वीं शताब्दी में बना हुआ बताते हैं। यह मंदिर देवी दुर्गा की प्रतिरूप “माता जीण ” का मंदिर है और जीण माता मंदिर नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। तीन पहाड़ियों के संगम शिखर पर यह मंदिर स्थित है। इस मंदिर से एक लोककथा भी जुड़ी है, जो जीण माता के इस मंदिर के चमत्कार को बताती है। यह उस समय की बात है जब मुगल काल था और दिल्ली के तख्त पर औरंगज़ेब नामक क्रूर शहंशाह बैठा था। उस समय उसने इस मंदिर को नष्ट करने का फरमान जारी कर दिया और जब यह बात सीकर के लोगों को पता लगी तो वे बहुत दुखी हुए और जीण माता से प्रार्थना करने लगे। मंदिर को गिराने के लिए के लिए ठीक समय पर शहंशाह और उसकी की फौज जीण माता के पास पहुंच गई, पर जब उन्होंने आगे बढ़ने की कोशिश की तो अचानक मधुमक्खियों ने पूरी सेना पर हमला कर दिया, जिसके बाद में सभी सैनिक अपनी जान बचाकर किसी तरह मैदान से भाग खड़े हुए। इस दौरान खुद औरंगजेब की हालात भी बहुत ज्यादा खराब हो चुकी थी। इसके बाद में औरंगजेब न...

Scores of journalists, social activists, professors, politicians, intellectuals, historians…everyone is shedding cusecs of tears, cursing and castigating the New Delhi Municipal Corporation, for renaming Central Delhi’s Aurangzeb Road,  after the recently demised President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam! Just recently they were against Indian Judiciary, Indian Government and Indian Legal System…for awarding Capital Punishment to an extremist, whose acts and plans caused the death of 350 people and more than 1200 were seriously injured , during 1993 Mumbai Blasts. The last emperor of the Great Mughals, ‘ Aurangzeb ’ has been renowned for his atrocities especially for killing his elder brother, Dara Shikoh and also for keeping his father and predecessor, Shah Jahan in captivity until his death. Shah Jahan, on the other hand is well-known for his marvelous monument Taj Mahal – A Symbol of Undying Love for his beloved wife and is even sympathized for his last 8 years of confinement. Aurangzeb , the last of the Great Mughals although strong and bold is mostly infamous for his bigotry and aggressive policies towards the non-muslims especially Hindus. A staunch Muslim at heart, he had zeal to spread Islam at a great speed and so he not only killed Hindus but also ripped them off from their wealth and position. This is the general perception of the historians or maybe they used this facet in exaggerating his character a lot. However, in his time, did he only prosecuted Hindus alone and treat Muslims with great pomp and honor? Absolutely not!
