In an embarrassment to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, AAPs social media head Ankit Lal's wife Prerna Prasad has called the Delhi chief minister a "manipulator". This comes at a time when AAP MLA Somnath Bharti's estranged wife has accused him of domestic violence. Bharti has been charged with beating her and their two children besides forcing her to abort her third child. Meanwhile, former law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar in under police custody regarding his fake degree.
Prerna took to social media to accuse Kejriwal of manipulating her husband Ankit who forced her to delete her Facebook account so as to prevent her from speaking the truth. In a series of posts, Prasad said that she is too small to advise Kejriwal on how to run a party but said that he should love those who were with him in his struggle days.
She said that true leaders are those who are open to criticism and improve on their shortcomings.
She accused Kejriwal of listening to his loyalists and not paying heed to the truth. She said: "Sorry to say but Arvind Kejriwal has made his own career by destroying the career and family life of many youngsters like me," Prasad said on Tuesday.
She also accused Kejriwal of being surrounded by sycophants instead of listening to his workers who were with him in his tough days.
"True leaders are those who have the guts to face criticism and improve. Rests are loyalists, blind followers and chamchas (sychophants). Ignore those who come to you after you have won. Love those who were with you in ur times of struggle?(sic)," she said.
Lal, however, said the charges were baseless and there was no external influence in their personal life. "My wife has a medical history; she is currently under medication in Rajasthan," Ankit told MAIL TODAY . He said the veracity of Prerna's charges could be ascertained only after meeting her.
It may be noted that Lal and Prasad had married in May 2012. Interestingly, they met during Anna Hazares anti-corruption movement in 2011.
"Two years since I and Prerna Prasad got into a nuptial knot and looking back it seems that it was one of the best decisions of my life. Hopefully we will celebrate many more anniversaries like this in the coming years and our love keeps increasing forever," Lal had said in a Facebook post of May 2014.
