• Army was called to control Muslim rioters in Kolkata in November, 2007. Muslim goons in the city looted Hindu shops and had beaten-up policemen in protest against writer, Taslima Nasreen’s bold view about Islam.
• Dlanghata riot on July 14, 2010. In Dalanghata near Diamond Harbour, Rath Festival was in full swing on 13 July. Muslim youths were misbehaving with Hindu girls. One Hindu girl of Bahadurpur slapped a Muslim boy for molesting her. The Muslims could not tolerate this. More than 50 buses and jeeps have been damaged.
• Riot broke out at Santipur in Nadia district following the brutal incident of rapes of three Hindu girls by Muslim goons in June, 2010.
• Panchthupi Riot in Murshidabad on April 14, 2010 onwards. The clash started when some Muslim boys spat on the Hindu devotees of Shiva on the day of Charak Puja. These devotees were drinking water from a tube well.
• Later, riots spread in adjoining villages Kutirampur, Babunia, Bhagabangola in June, 2010. Murshidabad District Magistrate, Parvez Siddiqui, played a partisan role in protecting Muslims only.
• Riot broke out when about 15 cows were slaughtered at the Chhoto Mahara village in the Amta Sirajbati area of the Howrah district on the occasion of Eid on 28th Nov 2009. Earlier, no cow slaughters had ever taken place in this village.
